How to Wear White in the Winter

Wearing white in the winter has had a bad rap, but when done correctly, it is possible to wear your favorite white items past Labor Day. When wearing white jeans, try on a chunky, cozy sweater like the Citizens of Humanity Lauren deep-v heathery sweater in black. Another option would be wearing a blazer with leather boots - heavy pieces that contrast nicely white the light color.

Animal print also looks great with white denim. The neutral colors of a black turtleneck and white jeans combined with a pair of chic leopard or zebra print ballet flats, give all the attention to your fun, flirty shoes.

To create a slimming effect, try mixing a few tones of white in the same outfit by wearing a white turtleneck under an ivory sweater or even a cream shirt under a white cardigan.

Focus on the fabric weight of the white denim. Heavier denim or corduroy will look like a winter pant even if it is in a lighter shade. No matter the color always pack away any items you may have made of linen. The light, breezy fabric indicates a summer outfit.
